Banked reset vs automatic reset: they are not the same thing
Automatic resets are applied directly to the covered limits and are not stored. Banked resets stay available in your account until you apply them yourself. Granting a reset is not the same as your access having been restored.
Where to actually check your Codex usage
Settings and the usage dashboard are the documented account-level places; an active CLI session exposes /status. Reports also mention a /usage command in the CLI that shows available resets.
Your Codex reset time passed but you still have no access
The displayed reset time passing is a signal to check your account, not proof that anything is broken. The official guidance points to support for exactly this case - after you have confirmed which allowance you are actually reading.
Short window vs weekly window: two clocks, not one
The official material refers to 5-hour and weekly Windows as distinct things that a banked reset refreshes together. Treating them as one clock is the most common reason a personal countdown looks wrong.
You hit a Codex usage limit: what your account can actually do
Reaching a limit is not a fault. Your account decides which options you get: buying credits, applying an available reset, upgrading, or waiting for the reset time shown in your account. Support does not reset limits on request.
How to read your own Codex reset time (and why public countdowns mislead)
Your reset time belongs to your account and your plan. Read it from Settings or from /status in the CLI. A countdown you saw somewhere else is not your countdown.
